It sure has been awhile since I posted! We were off to a running start with 3 weddings back in February, and I think we all know what happened next. Kristen and Seb were one of many couples scheduled to have a wedding (and a party!) this year, but 2020 said how ’bout an elopement by the water instead? Thanks to these two for inviting me along to photograph their beautiful ceremony. It was just their officiant, and me – and I have to say I could get used to this. I’m so looking forward to celebrating with these two when things settle down a bit and travel is reopened. Until then, enjoy their fall elopement in Chicago!

Thanks again to this charming couple for including me in their re-imagined wedding day. This fall elopement in Chicago was a highlight of my 2020. I think I might be hooked on intimate wedding days!

Married Love by Guan Daosheng

You and I
Have so much love,
That it
Burns like a fire,
In which we bake a lump of clay
Molded into a figure of you
And a figure of me.
Then we take both of them,
And break them into pieces,
And mix the pieces with water,
And mold again a figure of you,
And a figure of me.
I am in your clay.
In life we share a single quilt.
In death we will share a single coffin.

Planning an elopement or wedding of your own? Reach out and say hello. We’d love to tell your story.
