All season I have been looking forward to this Ukrainian Village wedding in Chicago, my old neighborhood! Samantha & Jake chose to show their friends and family their own Chicago neighborhood instead of having their wedding downtown. The result was a unique and intimate wedding that gave their guests a taste of their daily life in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood on Chicago’s west side. Samantha got ready in the couples’ condo, and their first look took place on their newly renovated rooftop. The view of downtown was the perfect backdrop.
From there we explored the tree-lined streets and street art of their neighborhood. As well as a cool industrial pocket near the Chicago River. We loved that they valued unique wedding photography. And that they found us on Fearless Photographers! They also prioritized great food, and ambience. Naturally they held their outdoor ceremony and reception at Homestead on the Roof, a delicious farm to table restaurant on Chicago Ave. Check out this fabulous day. Enjoy!
These two celebrated whole-heartedly. We loved witnessing their first day as husband and wife. On what was (truly) one of the hottest days of this summer so far, we never heard them complain once about the heat. Thank you to Jake & Samantha for being a dream to work with.
